As the temperatures have started to drop, it has really begun to feel like fall. And with fall, it's hard not to think about the fact that Christmas will be here before you know it!
Starting on October 15th, the Pom Squad will begin our annual Christmas greenery fundraiser. We will be taking orders from October 15th until the 29th. Greenery will then be delivered the week of Thanksgiving; just in time for Christmas decorating.
If you would like to be contacted about our Christmas greenery, simply send an email to mklenk@cameronschools.org. Be sure to include your name, phone number and the best time to contact you. We will then be happy to assist you in finding the perfect greenery for your Christmas decorations.
Thank you, as always, for your support!

Camp 2012
The Cameron Pom Squad has just gotten back from an Elite Dance Camp at the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg. The girls did an absolutely fantastic job! They competed against teams from much larger schools (Lee Summit North and Raymore Peculiar) and they danced their hearts out. They completed a four day camp curriculum in under 3 days! That means that everything they learned, they had to to learn, practice and perfect it for evaluation in a very short amount of time. For example, their first set of routines they encountered were taught, practiced and then judged in under nine hours! Also in that nine hours they learned another routine and worked on a squad routine as well. Needless to say, it was a long and hard 3 days packed full of dancing, practicing and teamwork.
Well, I am thrilled to say that our girls handled it with utmost dedication and perseverance. They pushed through some really long hours of extremely repetitive practicing, difficult choreography and often times to the brink of tears. But they never quit! They worked hard and never gave up. And it is because of all of this hard work, I am honored to announce that the girls earned the following awards:

And it is because of all of this hard work, I am honored to announce that the girls earned the following awards:

- Superior rating on their Team routine
- Silver placement in Team routine
- Award for Most Improved
- Award for Technical Growth
- Trophy for Innovative Choreography for Home routine
- 10 Individual Blue ribbons
- 6 Individual Spirit ribbons
- 2 ribbons for Showmanship and Technique
- 3 All American Nominees (Georgia, Sabrina & Shelby)
- Spirit stick all three days of camp
I could not be happier with how well the girls did. This year we have 9 new girls (out of 16). And may I just say that all of our new girls completely came out of their shells at camp and really showed us what they were made of. They worked harder than we could have ever hoped for and did a fabulous job! My veteran members pushed themselves farther and really stepped up to the plate as far as dancing but also as being great role models and leaders for the younger girls. But above all, the entire squad really came together as a team. They learned to support each other and depend on each other with friendship and love. They learned to appreciate their differences, recognize that they all have strengths and then use those strengths to make the squad stronger. All of the girls have good reason to be proud of themselves. So if you see any of the girls, please congratulate them on a job well done. They did an awesome job representing our school and our community!
Great job ladies!
